Probably a faulty coil pack, a fault reader would tell you the exact fault.

Had a 2001 Zafira a few years back, it was guzzling oil, had to top it off every couple of weeks.

It showed symptoms similar to what you're describing, and they evolved into complete loss of power at low revs, and inability to start it. Took it in, had the coil replaced, but that didn't fix it. Later, replaced the EGR valve, which was sticky, probably due to burnt oil residue. The man said he could have cleaned it, probably, rather than replace it. Overall, it was expensive to fix, and it was bound to happen again, as the car was still burning oil.

This was an issue with certain 1.6L petrol engines in pre-2003 Opel/Vauxhall cars. If you google "zafira burning oil", you should find plenty of threads about the issue. However, if your oil levels are good, you might not have this issue at all, and you need advice elsewhere.
