    Sorry, no pictures.

Very plain looking rectangular map type light, does on/off/door.
No visible switch, the lens itself has 3 positions, you push the left or right end of the light itself to turn it on or off.

Would be about 5 inches wide and maybe 2 inches high?

    I'm thinking it's a some Ford?

It's got a thin frame, the rest of it is the light, and it pivots in the centre.

    Make sense?

No, it's a sort of parts bin job, it's in some modern enough car but was really from the 90s I reckon.

    Not Mercedes is it?

rear roof light of caddy van 2008 upwards

Yes, that's along the lines of what I'm looking for.

Was that the interior light on some older vws like the vento?

Do you know if the wiring is straightforward? Like a door live and a permanent live?

Looking for something a bit bigger than those.

    Punto mk2?

Yes, that might work too. Base model one without the map lights.

Either an Fso Polonez or a Veyron Super Sport.

    Possibly something inbetween them.

There's 2 Veyron Super Sports in the breakers up the road.

Mk2 Punto wouldn't be CANBUS would it?

Any numbers on it? I work in parts and can cross reference. Most complete units will have some number on them. Might need a magnifying glass.

No, I don't have the actual part, I need to know what car to get them from. The caddy/Punto ones should do the trick although they weren't the ones I originally had in mind.

    Thanks though.

How do you even get this far back on an already exceptionally obscure thread?!

The answer was VW. Got some in a scrapyard :)
