Interesting development outside of NATO, to be called a Military Planning and Conduct Capability facility will be housed in Brussels led by a Finnish Lieutenant-General. The HQ might take charge of missions such as Sophia, the EU naval operation designed to fight human smugglers in the Mediterranean Sea. France, Germany, Belgians and Italy are pushing for it while UK had said it opposed anything that would compete with Nato.

So with an Irish presence in the Med and Ireland in the EU Battlegroup, could this effect the Irish military in the coming years ?
