    Hi Guys,

There is probably a few old threads on this subject but my sister is 24. She has just bought a Toyota Vitz (yaris in Europe. Vitz in Japan)

Cant get insurance anywhere. Been quoted €5k. Anyone suggest anyone that might be more competitive?

Why are Japanese imports so expensive to ensure anyway?

    Primarily this.

Can also be issues where the engine is not the same CC size as Irish spec so they have nothing to benchmark it against.

Because they were never intended to be sold in Europe. And as such they may not have the same level of security or safety features fitted that would be mandatory in the same car that was sold here. You also get oddball specs and engines.

Is there no crime in Japan?

Anyway, I've found First Ireland very good for my import Honda fit, for a few years in a row now..

Is there no crime in Japan?

Actually, no. They are by and large a very honest nation.
