    Hello,

Can someone please tell me how room thermostats are supposed to work.

The reason I ask is, I notice that if I have my zones set to 20 degrees and then the oil heating comes on after a while the yellow light on the thermostat goes off because the room temp is reached, but then if it drops down tonlets say 16 the oil heating does not kick in again.

The thermostat is only new so I doubt its faulty, or maybe it is.

It works as you described, but it's either faulty or in a bad location where the air is staying warm.
Personally I perfer 22-23° as that allows for a comfortable drop before it switches back on again.
Herself with the rolling pin puts it up to 28-30°

I'm not sure how I should set up the heating. It's a brand new house so it's airtightness it's 100%

Some ppl say leave the oil heating on 24*7, others say have it on for one hour in the morning and then a few hours in the evening
