    As Victor pointed out look at S13 of the Electronic Commerce Act 2000 for Irish law (based on the now repealed E-signatures Directive 1999/93/EC).

    If your a business you may wish to or already be using Advanced or Qualified e-signatures in which case you should look at the eIDAS Regulation 910/2014/EU which came into force in 2016.
