Has Motorola gone downhill?

I own the Moto G4 and I still have gotten the Android 7.0 nougat update. People in India got it in November. I get that Ireland is a small country but even most G4/Plus owners in the US haven't gotten the update. Almost 5 months since its initial release in India.
My sister got the Moto G3 and that got the Marshmallow update relatively early.

And I probably will not be getting the Moto G5 as it doesn't really look appealing, especially if they won't bother to update it. Is it better to save up and get the next OnePlus phone or Should I go for a chinese phone like Xiaomi as they tend to be better bang for your buck.

I have a Samsung s7 and still don't have Nougat... Motorola give you a cracking phone for the price, Chinese imports are all well and good in theory...But delivery times...Vendors telling you they have stock and are blatantly lieing, compatability on Irish networks, non existent updates, joke warrantys.... Factor all this in and you're still better off buying something a bit more "local".
My cousin got a one plus2....And it arrived faulty...Took 5 months before he got a replacement...It seems moving countries killed his warranty, moved from Austria to Gibraltar and it caused no end of grief...
Ahm ....I meant to say Motorola are grand...Just needed to blow off steam ;)

Yes, But the thing is that the moto G4 also hasn't gotten any security update since July 2016 and Android is kind of notorious for having security bugs and cracks every now and then.
I like the phone, I have no problem with the phone itself but it seems like the company is starting to care less and less about their customers here.

Chinese phones, although there are a lot of cacveats, are still very good value. Like I go to University and I have quite a few friends with Xiaomi phones that were cheaper than mine and are just as good. I have had to order things from the chinese market before so I know what their customer service can be like.

OnePlus as a company as come quite a long way though. I see way more people in my Uni with OnePlus phones than with Moto phones and they seem to be enjoying the phones very much. Yeah they might not have the customer service that someone like Samsung or Apple has, but they are getting better.

Like I like motorola phones but I find them harder to recommend than I would have a year and a half ago.

Motorola are not the Google owned company they use to be. Be lucky to get an update with them now.
