Classy car please

Hi everyone. Would love recommendations for a replacement car (currently Audi A3). I have only ever owned hatchbacks which I love the look off. Budget is under 30000 euro and I never buy new. Looks and safety are priorities. My daily commute is approx. 30 km to and from work. Suggestions please

Wow, some looking car for the money.
What are they like?

WHere is that on the spec level and would it be much of a discount from new?
Friend is looking at getting a focus - might suggest a v40 to her (not necessarily one this new)

The V40 and current Focus share many parts from the days when Ford owned Volvo upto a few years ago. Volvos are good cars but parts can be expensive especially if you have to source them from main dealers. If you need space then the V40 will disappoint as they are fairly tight on the inside and rear visibility is limited due to the sloping roofline. Then again the Focus is not brilliant in this area either. Another plus point about the V40 is equipment levels are pretty decent, the cabin is also more upmarket than the Focus and the Volvo 2.0 diesel engine has lots of torque whereas the majority of Focus which come with the smaller 1.6 diesel engine.

My maths work out 30km each way x 5 days = 300km and that's just the work commute. Anyway it's the OP's money and business on how much he/she wants to spend on a car irrespective of how far it's driven.

No problem really but it would probably be cheaper to hire a brand new car of your choice every six months but each to their own. OP best of luck with whatever you get. There are some lovely near new cars out there with that kind of budget.

Yes... hire a brand new rental spec ford focus or similar every six months... or buy a nice car that you will enjoy.

Not a hatchback but this is what I bought 3 months ago op.
A Lexus IS300h F Sport.




Saved over 5k by buying in England and that was off Lexus Ipswich!

Thanks frankz. "Researching" atm. Hate shopping (cars & fashion) so preparing for the inevitable NCT fail - last year spent a lot to get car through. Having an Audi atm, I probably am drawn more to them. Liked the merc a class and Volvo v40 the best of all suggestions.
