Immergas Eolo Mini Problem

    Hello there.

Having a bit of trouble with the boiler in my apartment. It is an Immergas Eolo Mini.

I had a guy come look at it but he said that he doesn't touch them sort of boilers and gave me a quote of €2.5k to install a new system. He said it was screwed basically.

Funds are a bit tight at the moment so can't afford to put in the new system so was hoping someone might give me the answer I'm looking for in that it can be fixed.

I know nothing about boilers but basically there are two settings.

    1. Heat the water
    2. Heat the radiators (this also heats the water)

Option 1 isn't working anymore so I'm working off option 2 for showers. Option 2 is working but its awkward to work with. I have to turn on the heating for ten minutes before getting hot water. I then draw off cold water for about 1 minute. The water is good and hot at that stage but can sometimes go cold all of a sudden. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before this strategy breaks down.

I should also point out that the timer isn't working.

Any suggestions on whether I should get a second opinion or if anything can be done would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

Well these guys seem to sell parts for it, so there must be service available somewhere.

It sounds like an old boiler but you might (or might not) be able to get more service out of it.

I guess you haven't been getting it serviced every year?

Not in the apartment too long.

I originally contacted the guy before Christmas to get it serviced but he said he didn't touch them. So I kind of was resigned to the fact that it was a no hoper. Was on boards today and just saw a post on plumbing and heating so said it might be worth a shot throwing the question out there.

I'd say it hasn't been serviced in a good while though.
