Dropped by the newsagents today and our two weekly local newspapers here in Wexford (Gorey Guardian and Gorey Echo) both led with a story about a golf course... only they were different golf courses.

Seafield Golf Course has closed and Courtown is at risk from erosion. Not exactly good news... even if Seafield is a poor course. Here's a pic:

Pity about Seafield, but I think it has been running at a loss for a while now... another one bites the dust :-(

Courttown is a great course, I hope the coastal erosion issue can be dealt with immediately by the County Council.

Is it just the golf course that had closed in Seafield, or is it the whole resort?

Just the course, got that straight from them as had booked something for later on this year.

Not really surprised with Seafield, it's condition over the past number of years was getting gradually worse. Never had a club feel to it.
