Great offer. Been thinking about picking up a ps4 pro but for that price I might bite the bullet and wait for the new Xbox for 4k. Horizon looks like a great game too

For those not wanting the game CEX will give €52 cash, bringing the PS4 cost down to €198. Very tempting.

€26-30 cash in CEX for the additional controller which brings the console price down even more......€168-172.

    Just reserved one. Thanks OP

I would go the adverts route and sell the boxed controller for 40-45.

Brilliant price for the bundle, if anyone buys it and doesnt want the game just let me know and I will buy it if the price is right :D

Just wondering if you can return the console only for refund and keep the game and controller ?

I would imagine that argos would not allow this, they would lose a fortune if they did.

Just tried to order- the PS4 Slim, the game and the additional controller all have different collection dates- how on earth does that work? I mean- I can hardly go in and collect the extra controller for free tomorrow, the free game on Friday- and then the console itself next Wednesday? Yet- this is what my e-mail confirmation suggests? I mean- I could collect the freebies- and then just not come back- if I was that way inclined. Doesn't make any sense..........

Argos only honor the deal if all parts are purchased in the same store at the same time. AFAIK your not reserving the price just the items. To get the offer you would need to re-reserve each component until they are all available in the same store.

If the deal is still in when this happens all components don't need to be on the same reservation for the deal to be honored.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 18,809 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kimbot

When you.go I to collect the first item you will have to pay for the bundle up front turn collect the rest as it comes back into stock.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29 abusimbel

At the end of the reservation, I get an email listing only the controller at its normal price, I also can see on the page that states:
"The following items were not purchased
Horizon Zero Dawn PS4 Game. 652/9420 1 €58.99 Out of stock
    PS4 Slim 500GB Console - Black. 571/8469 1 €249.99 Out of stock"

    That is mad!

Thanks OP. Was raging when I missed the fat ps4s on sale before Xmas. Just got one of these. As another poster advised, went to Cex then and sold game for 52. 198 for console with two pads. Not too shabby at all.

I've a code for this deal at the Blackpool Argos in Cork. Black PS4 500gb, Horizon ZD and a black controller reserved until Monday evening for €250. Anyone who needs one let me know and I'll pass it on.

Hadn't realised a buddy managed to pick one up for me in Mahon Point today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 947 ✭✭✭Irishder

No Black PS4's available in Waterford. Have a code for a white one if anyone wants to swap? Great deal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,081 ✭✭✭✭mrcheez

I was going to get a PS4 Pro purely for using PSVR but very tempted by this as a cheap way to get into VR until Vive version 2 comes out and I put the full investment of buying a dedicated VR PC etc.

So €150 after selling the game/controller sounds damn good to me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,081 ✭✭✭✭mrcheez

Ah nutzoid, seems all the games in the deal are sold out Dublin-wide. Wonder if they'll get more stock in...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 49 fmcato

Got a white one on Saturday, thanks!

By the way the Horizon game is awesome! Hours fly by when playing, makes the missus angry...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,081 ✭✭✭✭mrcheez

That Horizon game (or any of the games in the deal) appears to be out of stock in all Dublin shops.

Reckon they'll get more in before this deal expires?

Hard to know, but if you know anyone in Cork who can pick it up, you're welcome to the extra code I have. Expires tonight.

Nice, any idea how to convert that to desktop view? :D

    SORRY got it: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-PlayStation-4-500GB-Black/dp/B06XCHJ2ZJ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1488809430&sr=8-1&keywords=ps4%2B500&th=1

Only downside of that is the black 2nd controller, when the camouflage ones are going for €10 extra in CEX

No need for Parcel Wizard is there? Over £25 is free delivery

The extra VAT can make it cheaper to send it to the UK first.

Bought, thank you sir. I suppose the extra tenner or so is worth it considering I get it delivered to the door ;)

The deal is 199 up north.
I would say there's stock floating around in south from people not collecting, I managed to reserve the deal last night.

Well it would be a great console to start with as you'd be in at the cutting edge, rather than an ageing machine. I'm getting mine purely for PSVR so that might be something that interests you.

Note that the Amazon order is split into 2 deliveries, so the VAT price turns out to be roughly same as UK delivery plus 2 x Parcel Wizards.

The Parcel Wizard approach is still somewhat better though as you can schedule the delivery time (e.g. I'll arrange to work from home on the delivery day).

With Argos, is it a case that you reserve each item as part of the deal, say Horizon game, Camo Controller and 500gb ps4 - get three different reservation codes and then present the three at checkout and they automatically give you the discount?

Also, with CEX when you register and agree to sell, do you then just take them to the local CEX store and when they look over them the money is paid into your bank account?? (if that option is chosen)

I think you have to actually reserve all three at the same time (hence why I couldn't get it in Argos as the games aren't in stock in Dublin)

Like you select the PS4 Slim, then tick the checkboxes for the game/controller under the Special Offers tab.

They pay you cash in hand. Unless things have changed they try to register you but I think you can opt out.

It's famous for druggies going in and offloading bits they've lifted from other shops.

I got an MSI laptop from them once, an i7, 16GB Ram, GTX970, 250GB SSD/2TB HDD, 3K screen, the works - for €400.

Which means they paid whoever traded it in around 200-250 for it. There is no way on earth that someone gave up a €1,500 laptop for 200 cash.

They do require that you're registered and you have photo ID before you're allowed sell stuff to be fair but still, I'd say a fierce amount of stolen stuff goes in there.

Hmm must be a new thing to show ID, I think all I had to do was give my email address.

But it's still cash in hand right?

I meant, when you sign up to a membership, which you need to be able to sell stuff to them, they require photo id. That's the way it's always been (at least, since I'm familiar with CEX from a few years ago).

They pay either cash or credit (which is usually about 25-30% more)

I ended up ordering the xbox 360 for €100.i know its a bit of a dinosaur (a bit like myself) but i would only be using it for casual gaming.the lads on the other thread said it was a good deal

    Myself included :)

It is a good deal, I'm still playing away on mine, although PSVR will probably ruin gaming for me on anything else.

I'd be wary ordering from Tesco Direct using Parcel Motel.

I ordered an Xbox ONE S and they cancelled the order as I was using a parcel forwarding service.

Took 10 days to get my money back.

    Couldn't recommend using them.
