Vendor vs actual company

    Hi,
I've been put in a situation where a vendor who I have been working for freaked out when I told them I was quiting. The other company is a real company and I would work directly for them. Now the vendor freaked out that I am leaving and they offer just as much salary as the other company. Benefits its almost the same. I have a hard time to decide as I respect them both. Anyone with great advice on con's and pros?

    Many thanks in advance!

not sure what you mean by a vendor?

I'm jumping to the assumption you're working as a contractor (self-employed) for someone, another company has offered to employ you full time at a better rate.

You informed the company you're contracting for & they offered to match the terms of the new company.

This is still a bad deal as you are still self-employed and not entitled to social welfare if anything goes wrong in the future.

If you're happy to stay where you are, you should ask for more & to be taken on full time, otherwise, leave & got to the other company as a full-time employee & reap the benefits brought.

Them matching your new offer is like shops saying they'll match any other retailer - I want you to make it better, not the same, I may as well buy off the guy offering me the best deal.

Typically if you made the decision to leave you do unless your existing employer offers you a better deal than the new job. Now the only variable is if you really like working for your existing employer or if staying there offers you better career progression.
