Stainless Hot water tank leaking

Hi folks, stuck here and wondering if anyone has any ideas. Hot water tank is leaking (very slowly) from the O-ring around the bottom immersion. Leak is a trickle but a persistent one. Tank is a Coppercraft Phoenix 125L stainless steel tank and is approx 10 yrs old.

I replaced the O-ring and washers and Boss Whited it up, reinserted the immersion and it stopped.. for a few days. So did it all again last week, took extra care, and it stopped... for a few days!

Don't see how it could it be a busted washer or something simple now. Desperate for any help as having to buy a new tank would pretty much bankrupt me at the moment!

    https://sugru.com/about

You can buy it in Woodies now - look at examples on their website - you may need to drain tank for 24 hours but its a great fix and not too costly:D

Cheers, that sounds like brilliant stuff.

Don't think it will do for this job though as it looks like it's the inner tank leaking which you can't get at to fix. So resealing the outer tank as I've been doing does nothing, it was just because the tank had been drained that the leaking stopped. It's looking like it will just have to be replaced. Heap of s****.

I'd give it one more try.

Forget the washer / O ring.
And use stag & hemp on the treads.
(Bosswhite and the hairy stuff) flax.

    You've nothing to lose.
