Just came across this story on LI ... and I'm scratching my head ... how could this be effective here ... or anywhere for that matter?

It's not like a phone recording of a voice gives you a voice print that you can be tied into a contract ... or is it?

Telesales calls are recorded in their entirety (with the exception of when a CC number is spoken) and used as a contract. Fair enough.

But just having the customer only saying "Yes" during a telesales call doesn't make for a very believable contract IMO.

Can anybody tell me how this could be a thing?

I'd imaging when they threaten legal action some people pay up, no?

Mainly hitting florida? They're just confusing old people with "recordings" of themselves then getting CC details.

Dont be an idiot, it wont be a problem.

Just say ...."I can hear you but not clearly as I have a hearing problem" and keep bringing this up as the conversation progresses. Could be a bad line, local noise or indeed a hard of hearing problem...Should make enforcement of a verbal contract rather difficult !!
