Is it possible to get a pair of straight leg trousers altered so that they are more slim fit.
My boyfriend has his wedding suit but would prefer if the trousers were slimmer around the bottom of the leg area.
If anyone has done this before we'd love to hear about it.

Just bring it to a tailor. It's a fairly standard alteration.

My son gets it done all the time.. he has If thighs and if he buys a bigger size they are too wide at the bottom he likes a slim fit

As per the two previous posters, any tailor will be able to do it. I only had it done 2 months ago to a pair of jeans

It's so easy. If you have a sewing machine you can do it yourself.

no need for a machine! you can do a fairly decent job hand sewing did it all the time as a kid, try them on inside out and pin how narrow you want on inner leg remove to sew! tho a machine would def be faster!

As the local tailor said to me when I was a poor student, the body fits an elephant, the legs are for a spider. Fashion...

Can it be slimmed in the thigh area too? Or is it only below the knee?

It can be slimmed anywhere but it's more difficult. Below the knee is the easiest one.
