    Hi noble00,

Can you advise which Social Welfare payment she is currently in receipt of?

Is it the One Parent Family payment or Jobseekers Allowance.

If its the OPFP, the answer would be no. This payment is only available where the person is parenting alone and not cohabiting with a spouse/partner.

If it is Jobseekers Allowance or Disability Allowance, living with somebody will not disqualify them from the payment, but a means test will be applied and this could reduce or completely remove the payment based on the partners income.

    Hope this proves useful.

    Regards,

Hi I'm not sure what payment she is getting at the moment ,I told her the best thing to do is to go to citizens advice and they should be able to help her ,that's good to know she may be able to get jobseekers allowance if not already on it , I'll pass that on to her ,thank you for the reply
