Guess it works out around ‎€360 all in with PM which is an incredible price for this phone. It is still nearer £500 on Amazon atm.

Good review of the phone here. For those that might not be aware you can buy mods for the Moto Z which means you can clip on alternative backs which transform it with a bigger battery, a projector etc. They are covered in the video.

Only thing stopping me upgrading my OPO to this is the smaller capacity battery. Absolutely crucial!

Out of stock when I tried to buy. Would have been a great bargain.

You can add the big battery to it as a clip on.

It will be interesting to see if a community forms around this phone as they are releasing a developers kit which means you could see all sorts of weird and wonderful addons in the future. While I really like the idea behind this, technology in the phones themselves moves so quick that it becomes hard to build a proper community around stuff like this as people move phones so often, unless all future generations are backwards compatible to previous models mods. Moto have said they will be but I wonder how long that will last, if at all.

All gone now anyway if one of the mods could mark as OOS.

Yeah, ordered it around half one, Paypal payment with Parcel Motel as the delivery address, it was cancelled at about 8pm for failing to pass their security checks. So I had just enough time to get excited about cases and Moto Mods before my dream was crushed... Anyone every ordered off JL successfully before that I can learn from?

Got a Moto 360 off them last year. Paid with Visa Debit and delivered to Parcel Motel without issues.

new regs on Li Ion batteries only really affect batteries that are not part of a device, so shipped solo or as part of a power bank. Shouldn't affect a phone. I'm thinking I didn't put my PM id into a subtle enough position :D

No confirmation email....have a feeling i may have messed something with my autocomplete!

If it goes through, I'm gonna have to sell my 10. Still planning on getting the S8.

Got a text from my bank account me to confirm purchase, so here's hoping.

I resisted the last time but I couldn't let it go this time :P

The email order confirmation for it took about 15 minutes to come through after I bought it.

I bought the PLAY direct from Moto through Parcel Motel so it shouldn't be a problem. Unless of course they cancel all orders if this is some kind of website glitch.

Just got a cancellation email :( It must be something to do with using PM as I haven't seen anyone on HUDK getting one?

Weird as I bought the G4 Play from them a few months ago no problem and they have already taken the money from my bank account.

Did you use PayPal? I used my card this time but I notice I used PP the last time, I tempted to give it another go with PP.

Yeah it is an Irish one, just got email saying they are reviewing the order so cancellation email incoming anytime now I'd say.

I was only 5 mins between confirmation and cancellation...if you don't have a cancel by now, you might be good?

Edit: now showing out of stock for me anyway

I had nearly 40 minutes between review and cancellation the last time. Still nothing back from them yet on the second order.

I still haven't got any further emails from them. I would say they have finished reviewing orders for the night or have far fewer staff at least than earlier so they are taking longer to process.

From looking in the G4 Play thread - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057682106&page=5

They cancel all orders made with Irish CC's straight away but most people who used PayPal seem to get away with it. I haven't changed my PP address but it gave me the option in PP to use the PM address when I clicked purchase, probably because I have used it before and from what I remember that is all I did when I bought the G4 myself. Fingers crossed. I'll update the thread when I get a reply from them.

Edit - It seems to be in stock again. It comes and goes out of stock probably because so many people are holding them in baskets.

Yeah, I reordered using PayPal an hour or two ago. Got the first email, and no cancellation so far. The next email either confirms or cancels, I assume?

Yeah usually the next email is a confirmation one unless they find a problem with the order and cancel it.

Sounds like quite a few people are getting shipped emails now. I still haven't got anything, and my bank account is down the best part of €700.

In the exact same boat. I would contact chat but I don't want to draw attention to the order :P

Me also.I bought on Friday evening, paid with Visa Debit on PayPal because BOI Mastercard was not accepted. Used the Parcel Motel address as billing address. I can see the status of the payment in PayPal is 'Authorisation'.

So I guess that's 3 of us that went the PayPal route after originally being cancelled. Hopefully one of us gets a shipping email!

One thing I noticed with my order is that I have two emails for order received. One is my VISA Debit and the other is Paypal. Obviously the first one got cancelled, but the weird thing is that both emails use the same order number.

Edit: just got a notification from PayPal, seems my transaction has gone from authorisation to purchase.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,574 ✭✭✭WhiteMemento9

Just checked and my payment status on PayPal has changed too. That can only be a good sign. Hopefully a shipping email to follow soon.

I have two emails for ordered received but the order numbers are different.

Edit - Woop, just got a confirmation email from Moto!

Yup, just looking back at my last order from them. The next email i got was a day later saying the order was shipped but I think getting this one means it has passed whatever checks they do and has been sent for shipping.

Nice one, got that mail at 21.41. PayPal transaction changed from Authorisation to Payment.

Checking Boi banking 365, can see 2 debits for this transaction, one from 17th and one for 21st. So looks like I was charged twice?

One is for the cancelled order, the other is PayPal. I'm not going to chase up the refund of the first until I have the phone.

On AIB internet banking, they're actually both in pending, rather than complete transactions.
