I think everyone should be part of the school curriculum.
An emergency can occur anywhere at any time and if you are trained in bls , you can improve the outcome for the individual. The stats on how survival rate is affected by each minute which bls is not started is surely enough to justify bls education in schools especially with cardio vascular disease being the leading cause of death!
I learned bls only in college. It took approx 3 or 4 hours only.
I think that in the future it should be incorporated into the school curriculum so that you must take and pass Bls to pass your leaving cert or even at an earlier stage.
Only problem I see is that currently bls has to be renewed every 2 years.
    Opinions welcome.
