Am I the only one who finds the latest AIB TV Ad very odd

AIB are advertising their services by getting a couple to talk about how difficult it has been to raise their children while paying back their mortgage...

Arent AIB just great for having gathered plenty interest while this couple struggled financially, a bit of an odd Ad imo

I think that's part of how advertising works .
It gets your attention first , then if you need whatever they're selling , you consider them or something like that.

Yes, I found that one a little strange. I find the Money Supermarket ads very odd. I just don't think they're funny. Builders gyrating in hotpants and heels...okay

The new Woodies ad. You live near Coolock so you are too poor to buy new furniture. Go to woodies and buy furniture paint and some tat to make yourself feel less poor because 3/4 of your wages go on your mortgage.

    WTF?

The Guinness ad with the guy in the woods banging his head off the tree. It haunts my dreams - like all good ads should

Anybody seen this ad for Pukka Pies with the deadbeat mother and her failing kids? It's just utterly bizarre. She's there tucking into this gross ****e and her children all come in one-by-one to tell her how they are all failing miserably at life. One of her teenage sons even informs her he has just knocked-up some girl.

What the **** is the message here: Pukka Pies, official sponsor of the Jeremy Kyle Show?

I mean, it's pretty much the kinda attitude you'd expect from a person who enjoys eating that ****... But wow!!

    What?

The Cadbury eyebrow advert for me:

The Malteasers ad with the wan in the wheelchair. Wrong, just so wrong, and so annoying.
Also, why are Galaxy bars and Philadephia aimed at women?

Actually if you had gotten a 20 year mortgage back in the 80s you would of had it well paid off by now. The house would have cost you Tens of thousands not Hundreds of thousands.

Their marketing is a bit strange. I've wondered why this picture appears (see attached) when I go to view my accounts / financials

Funny, I was just discussing this advertisement with someone the other day. It's frightening that poor financial decisions are now becoming normalised by the advertising industry.

Granny with a hand in her crotch does it no favours. Especially as in the thumbnail that's were the girls gaze is directed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,969 ✭✭✭✭alchemist33

I'd say it's more her lap and the girl isn't exactly looking that low, but maybe I haven't been paying enough attention.

I find it odd. A randy granny getting hot and bothered next to the granddaughter? They could've conveyed the awkward situation with the choice of tv show and both of them looking awkward, without the weird stuff with granny.

I find that add very very very creepy. Can't put my finger on it exactly why. Whenever I see it I give it full attention everytime thinking to myself how odd it is. Very odd that.

Is that really Audrey Hepburn cgi'ed into the video, surly it's just a look-alike plastered in make up ?

Given the tash that could probably be solved by simply going with his natural sexual-orientation.

That ad pisses me off. It would sicken you, listening to how tough it was for them to slave away for 30-40 odd years to pay back money that AIB effortlessly created out of thin air and made a filthy hefty profit in interest on top
