Passport Office in Dublin

What would happen if you turned up the Passport Office in Dublin without an appointment? Is it just a case where they will tell you to make an appointment and come back on the date of said appointment, or is there any exceptions in case of emergency?

Any help at all is appreciated.

    (Sorry if wrong section)

Depends, if it's an emergency and you lost your passport and have tickets and can prove it, they will see you and sort you out in 24 hours if required.

If you just want a new passport and in no hurry it is business as usual

I needed an emergency one last summer. I turned up a couple of hours before the office opened. People were assessed based on their travel plans and seen accordingly. No appointment.

    They've two locations:

    Dublin:
    42-47, Lower Mount Street,
    Dublin 2,
    D02 TN83
    01 671 1633

    Cork:
    1a South Mall
    Cork
    T12 TA46
    021 494 4700

I'd suggest ringing ahead to discuss before just walking in as they'll be able to give you some advice on what you need to bring and so on in terms of tickets and proof of emergency needs.

I know this is 3wks old so OP is probably sorted but in case anyone else comes here looking ... my husband noticed yesterday passport is expired, holidays on Thurs!no appts available online last night. Turned up at office this morning all paperwork complete etc, wouldnt take him without appt but said to go online at 12.30, each day at 12.30 they release 20 emergency appts for the following day. If u have everything correct they process application on the day. Fingers crossed I get an appt now!!!!!

Edit, ps: there is a recorded message at all numbers, they don't seem to take calls anymore
