These Lifeventure last 10 + years and are excellent ... dry rapidly

Get at least the large ... well see the measurements ...

You can also use a second to put on gym equipment you are using like a weights bench etc ...

Loads of cheaper models as well

I just use a clean old one each visit. Have a few that are only for the gym. No need for a fancy one.

There are loads of advantages to the micro towels I listed above

They dry rapidly when washed / don't take up much space in your gym bag / great for holidays - will even dry in the sun or on the back of a chair

There are a few made of bamboo fibres that are very bacteria resistant as well

I have a couple of the Lifeventure towels mentioned above (extra large). I find them great.
They fold up really small and are easy to carry around.
The price on the link above though is absolutely crazy. You can get them in shops for less than a third of that price.

Is a gym towel the same as a towel or are there gains to be had from drying yourself down with a special towel?

    Yes the price is OTT.

I think they are the original of the species and sold by high end shops ... Like north face etc.

I picked up some competitor brands for 10 euro in spain ...

    They are a great idea

You could try bringing a towel from your home.

Easy let's not get crazy. Are you saying you've gone swimming without a special swimming towel??

    I used the Towel-a-Tron 9000x

Its like a towel - but it actually repels water with a gluten-free forcefield and can solve complex philosophical questions

    .... or can it?

I'll need my towel to answer that

Are there towels that won't dry in the sun or on the back of chairs?

These towels dry in a few mins in the sun / light breeze / on your back pack when on hols

Your standard cotton type will take hours

They take up less room in your washing machine, there are so so many advantages to them

Take the p1ss all you want

OP just wants a towel for the gym. Not the towel equivalent of a Swiss army knife

go to press get towel, put towel in gym bag.

Congratulations you now have a gym towel (remember to wash it)

I started ramming a microfibre gym towel up my arse as part of my post workout, I've literally lost 5 stone in 2 months with that 1 simple trick. Trainers hate me

I moved gym recently, new one is part of a hotel so they supply towels. Life is so much simpler now :p

Get a darker coloured towel for sure anyway.
