    Hi,

    The cold water from the tap in my kitchen was dirty for some time this afternoon. This was around 12pm, and the water was brown (attached is a pic).

    The water looks okay now but was wondering if there were any known issues in the area (near UCD) today?

    Hi zepman,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

    There were essential works on Kilmacud Road Upper today which may have also affected the surrounding area. These works had an estimated completion time of 1pm, which may be why your supply was discoloured around midday.

    We're glad to read that your water quality has returned to normal now. If you do experience any further issues with your water supply, pressure or quality, feel free to let us know and we will be happy to help.

    Also, both @IWCare and wtr.ie/Dublin are updated with any known disruptions in the Dublin area, 24/7.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks,
    Amy

    Thanks Amy. I did actually check the service update map and saw the update about the essential works but wasn't sure if that caused the issue. I'm glad it was only for a short time. However, I'm not sure if the water is safe to drink now?

    Hi zepman,

    Thanks for your response.

    If your water supply has returned to its original colour then it should be safe to consume. If not, we would recommend that you run your taps for a period of 10-15 minutes to clear any residue from works.

    If this doesn't work, feel free to send us a PM with the below details and we can look into this for you:

    - Your name;
    - Address and;
    - Contact number.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards,
    Amy

    Hi,

    I am seeing this issue again today since about 1pm (see attached pic). The supply and service updates map doesn't show anything around Donnybrook that could have caused this today.
