hi folks...always had pretty nice teeth..but lately they looking a little yellow. Kids pointed it out:mad:. I just want one shade lighter...am not going for the Rylan Clark look. Is there anything over the counter I can get?? I did get them whitened about 10 years ago at the dentist and the results were fab but just cant stretch to that now:confused:

I think there is an offer on Domestos in tesco. Two liters should do the trick!

I posted a similar thread a while back in the fashion forum. There's loads available. Most people mention the crest strips which are available online. I tried the baking soda and lemon juice method. It was amazing. It knocked off so much of the caffeine/nicotine off my teeth. They weren't white but they were visibly whiter. A word of warning though. It can seriously damage your teeth. They recommend not doing it more than once a week, I personally wouldn't do it even that often. Just do it once and leave it at that. The reason I say this is that although it does work, just do it the once and then try stuff from the pharmacy a couple of weeks later. It's not worth destroying your teeth for.

My teeth are unreal white, i use a mix of breadsoda with a little water once a week or so. I've also used those crest whitening strips which are unreal but made my teeth super sensitive.

My diet mainly consists of red bull, coke, lucozade, tea and cigarettes and so my teeth are a mess.

I gave a charcoal toothpaste a go. I used Beverly hills charcoal toothpaste and it has worked wonders. It's a black toothpaste but foams up white so your mouth doesn't end up black. I love the stuff.

There's a dental forum, isn't there? Probably a better place to ask.

Not very much really. The supply of drinks is more like a crutch and gets me through many days.

Pearl Drops work well after a few uses. I'm sure they erode the enamel to a lesser degree than whitening.

Try White-Glo toothpaste, they have a formula for coffee and red wine stains, and a formula for smokers.

Boots sell it. You feel like youve had a dentist clean your teeth, after use

:D:D...well, you made me smile, which I shouldn't really do with my increasingly skanky teeth

That's a scary place. The mod's reply to anything is go to an irish dentist and pay loads.

Bread powder is what you really want.

Bread soda is the one, not baking powder.

I was looking at one of those in Boots the other day but it was 50 euro. I decided against it as I'd no idea if they are worth the money. I suspect they would be if you smoke.

Does the aldi one come with the paste ?

I'm obsessive about teeth and mine are pretty white without being Ross-from-Friends ridiculous like you see so many celebrities these days.

I order Crest whitening strips and toothpaste from the US on Amazon, as it seems to have more potent ingredients than what you'll get in the UK/Irish pharmacies.
This one is great - 5 Crest Baking Soda & Peroxide Whitening Fresh Mint - USA

Brush your teeth three times a day with that and use a set of the Crest whitening strips about once a year. they will make your teeth super sensitive to the point where they'll become zingy when you use them and my dentist says any more than once a year could do damage.

oh and if you're a smoker or drink lots of tea/coffee you're always going to struggle to keep them white
