Hi all I have to attend court next week. I'll be travelling up myself and have no experience in Dublin with parking etc.
Where could I park for long term parking, say the week, nearest the court. I've sussed a b and b out across the road so will most likely stay there but it doesn't have a car park.
Also, if I was to get the bus to Dublin how far away is the bus station? I'm 6 weeks away from having a baby so my movement is limited.

Busáras has Luas right beside it, and the Luas stop is about a five minute stroll from the courts building.

There's free parking in the Phoenix Park, which would also be about a five minute stroll from the courts, but I'm not sure I'd be happy abandoning my car there for a week day and night.

Heuston Station is across the river, not sure if they'd do a deal for a week's parking. (ETA seems to be €30/week)

You could park as far out as Kilbarrack or even further if you like, hop on the DART, off at Connolly. Short turbo waddle to the LUAS, off at Heuston, further turbo waddle to the CCJ.

Sorry I hope you get the turbo waddle reference.

If you're traveling up and the train is an option to Heuston, it's very close indeed to the CCJ.

Thanks heuston seems to be the handiest option so far. I could probably grab a taxi outside busaras could I? I really don't like the idea of a luas having never travelled anywhere on public transport before. I mean anywhere. I'd be afraid of getting on the wrong one and ending up in Cork or somewhere!

The LUAS outside Bus Aras only goes toward Heuston or the otherway, you can't get lost. :) If you pass Connolly you're going the wrong way.

Just ask anyone on it if it goes to the courts, most on it will be :pac:

You could get a taxi but it would be pretty expensive and sit in a lot of traffic.

You'd be a long time getting to Cork on the Luas, believe me :D

Luas really couldn't be handier - buy a ticket from the machine, the screens on each platform show which way the tram on that side is going, and you hop off at Heuston)

But a taxi would cost you about a tenner, and given your condition would probably be far handier. And would drop you to the door.

Where are you travelling from? Some buses will pass by the train stations en route to the city centre, you might be lucky and get dropped at Heuston anyhow?

Lol thanks for that! It actually gave me a genuine belly laugh... and by belly I'm hitting sumo standards right now.

Sorry I hope you get the turbo waddle reference.

I'm coming down from Donegal so given 'bad traffic' in my opinion is a tractor with 2 cars behind I might be safer on the bus and then taxi to the court.
I don't have much faith in myself getting another bus or luas when I don't know the area but good to know the station is only a bit away 😆

You could then get a bus heading toward Heuston.

    Just throwing it out there!

Anyone know if Heuston Train Station Parking is normally full or normally available ? One can park in the Phoenix Park but I am not sure if that too gets full.

    Heuston Station Carpark

Seems to be full any weekday morning I came off the train.

You might be able to book a place.

Be careful of An Luas. Standing room only, few will surrender their seat.

They start and stop rather suddenly for a pregnant lady.

If the budget allows you need some place with 24 hour protect parking

There is actually is a car park in between the bakery and the pubs on Parkgate street that counsel/general public use. Its right beside the CCJ. There is on street park in some of the side roads beside the CCJ also. There is also a large car park in the Ashling hotel which is right beside the court.
