Where to start?

Planning on renovating the downstairs of our home next year. We need to reconfigure a few rooms in order for the house to work better for us.

    1. Need to move the kitchen
    2. Take out load bearing wall
    3. Reconfigure space where existing kitchen and tiny bathroom are, to include den/playroom(which in the future can easily be changed to down stairs bedroom if needed), wetroom and utility.

I have a general idea of how I want to do this however I am unsure if the room sizes will work or will I need a small extension to make it work and how then to plan the rooms to make the most of the new space.

Should I just contact a few builders to see what ideas they have and work with someone Im happy with or engage a technician/engineer/architect to do up drawings?

Obviously would love to minimise costs at the outset but dont want to save a few grand now to end up with a layout/rooms that just don't work.

    Thanks for any help.
