    Hi,

I got a Provisional Licence years ago. I think it was 2007. I've done nothing since then but I'm interested now in learning to drive and getting my licence. I know that that licence is no good to me now and I'll need to do the theory test again. Do I just apply as a first time learner (even though technically I'm not) or do I have to apply a different way?

You're a full startover I'm afraid. You should bring in your old provisional just so they have your driver number- the only thing that will carry over is your driver number. If you don't have it, you should at least mention it so they can find your record.

You'll have to provide a theory test (which can double as your proof of address, proof of PPSN, D201 app form, fee of €35 and photo ID. Remember, you're going to your local NDLS centre and not your Motor Tax office as before.
