Saorsat & Astra 28.2 - possible to have Astra as primary focus on 80cm dish?

Per the title, would it be possible to pickup Saorsat (with the correct LNB with an offset arm) with Astra 28.2 as the primary focus on a 80cm dish or would the offset and weaker signal from Ka-Sat@9E be too weak?

Given that 80cm is the minimum recommended for Saorsat in most of the country (going up to 100cm min. in the areas where it's actually most needed), putting the LNB on nearly 20 degree offset will hardly prove reliable.

Agreed . I have put 2nd dishes on quite a few occasions where installers have put gone with an offset lnb on a 80cm or sometimes larger .
Never works out . My field experience proves that Saorsat needs to be at the primary focus on a minimum of 80cm . Offsetting a lnb at 20 deg leads to a very poor MER and constant breakup in anything but perfect weather .
So 80 cm or larger for Saorview and secondary smaller dish for 28E .

Thanks for the info so, will find a new home/dish for the quattro lnb currently receiving Astra 28E. Would be handy if a quattro would work on a Sky dish, nice and small

This works a treat but you don't say where you are. Its tricky to fix I ahve it working in clare with a 78cm triax.

Yup, thats the adapter/holder I got to try this. It seems it will make more sense to have the 80cm dish just for Saorsat and dig out another dish to use for Astra 28E and maybe use the holder to pickup other sats on that dish.
A new wall mount ordered up for this. Don't really need Saorsat but might make the house happy that they don't need to swap tuners in the TVs for the RTEs at least. Believe I can use a multiswitch to integrate this into my setup, using just one lead from the Ka-Sat LNB on a free V/L input.

Thanks for the notes on dish size folks.

Assuming you have two 28° feeds for recording purposes, you just need 2 DISEQC switches so whichever tuner is free can select 28° or 9°. A multiswitch would be overkill unless you need more than two feeds.

It is for more than two feeds which I'm already using a multiswitch for. It's a 2 sat input multiswitch so Saorsat (with its limited services) would be the second sat

I had it working on a Triax TD88 using the Triax multibracket, no issues in South East.

I would put the primary focus at 9E or at least somewhere in between (Say arm pointing at 16E/19E and LNBs eiither side on bracket)).

They are both very strong sat positions
