Emirates Team New Zealand have decided that pedal power beats hand winches on their new America's Cup boat launched this week. Only the wind powers the boat but adjusting the wing sail requires major effort. Up until now, that was powered by hand but ETNZ have realised what cyclists have always known - legs are more powerful than arms. It will be interesting to see how they do in the America's Cup qualifiers and finals this summer.8
