Just wondering if any others are having a the issue of podcasts continually stopping and if so have you managed to resolve it.

The issue appears to have begun since the release of Android 6.0.1.

The only suggested workaround I've found was to turn off the battery optimization for the podcast apps. I've tried this yet still happening. The problem effects all podcast apps so it is an Android issue rather then an app issue.

    My phone is a Samsung A5 (2016) running 6.0.1

Any help would be fantastic as its doing my head in :(

    Thanks

Running 6.0.1 and having no problems with podcasts stopping. Maybe try reinstalling the app to see if that helps. Are you using the speakers on the phone or through headphones?

    Headphones.

The fact that its effecting 3 different apps I don't think reinstalling will work. Will try anyway.

Yeah there's a problem with aux cables. Might need to get Bluetooth headphones.

I'm having a problem with podcast republic on my VF smart ultra where it keeps freezing - sounds like your one just stops?

Exactly, generally use PR too but happens with all podcast apps I've tried.

I feel it might be more to do with the phone than Android.

Very annoying. Having to use an iphone for my podcasts now:mad::mad:

Have you tried downloading them fully before playing?

Use a good podcast client (I recommend Pocketcasts even though it's one of the more expensive ones out there) and actually download the podcasts over wifi before listening. You'll have a much better experience.

I like to listen to some podcasts at 1.1x - 1.2x which pocketcasts let you do even by streaming now I think.

After a bit more looking into the problem apparently whats causing it is androids battery optimization. Basically it stopping some process to preserve battery. I've excluded podcast apps from optimization so will see if this works.
