Currently I'm in the process of changing jobs contract nearly signed and all but a few things just don't seem to be right.

Firstly I am being employed to do a mechanical engineering/survey role but the job brief has changed to more of a mechanical fitter no issues with this but my wages are less than a fitter would get to do the job.

Next I am fairly anxious about leaving my current employer as it is relatively secure although I'm working rotating shifts.

Would the new role make my contract obsolete and require a re draft.

Its certainly something you should be talking to them about.
They would need to clarify why it's different to the agreed role.
Is your leaving the old job set in stone?

No old company is fairly good leaving the door open with a kind of open notice period that can be retracted but once I'm gone, I'm gone as its company policy.
