Liverpool Council have indicated they may offer council tax (bins, water, etc.) exemptions to people reporting dog fouling - with pictorial proof.

Just read this at lunch, an interesting concept. Not sure how effective it would be given that it would be hard to prove I would have thought. For example, my dog (female) goes for a few no1s that people often have commented on that "my dog's done it's business and I should clean it up". Thankfully most of them apologise when they're told she's female, a couple have been adamant she was doing a number 2 which was quite frankly a lie.

I have to say, living where I am in the UK this wouldn't be a huge issue, the green area close by tends to have a lot of responsible owners, helped, I would think due to plan clothes litter wardens walking through now and then. I can't say the same for other areas in the city and the biggest issue seems to be hanging bags from trees and railings rather than leaving the poo on the floor.

Would a similar approach work back home?

I came here to start another thread about my dog dying, and I saw this.

I personally would not report another dog pooing. I think it's ridiculous. But there are people who cannot fathom how we have lived on this earth as long as we have, so I won't venture further into this. (i will also unfollow, as i do not think the following replies will agree with me.).
