    Hi All,

Just a few questions on my friend's P60 that seem a bit odd

-Is there any reason why his tax credits woudl be in excess of €3,300? He seems to have €3,320. The only thing I could think of that would give an extra 20 euro was a tax credit for medical expenses but he says he hasn't applied for any tax credits at all.

    - Is there any reason why pay for tax purposes would be different to pay for USC purposes? He doesn't earn any income other than PAYE.

    Thanks
    Caoimhe

Income for PAYE and USC may be different for example if he pays AVC into a pension perhaps - as this is tax deductible to a point.

Social welfare payments such as illness benfit are taxable through payroll but are not subjected to usc so this can also cause a difference.

The 20 could be for a schedule e expense claim. Set them up on my account on revenue and u can take a look at the tax credits applied to the 2017 cert from there.
