Empty Whiskey Bottles...

    Hi all,

I would just like your opinion on this please,

I have a few empty/near empty Jameson bottles of various types, I don't want to dump them as when I come across them again I would like to buy them.

I am wondering what the general thinking is on re-filling these with the regular Jameson until I come across the bottles again?

Is this ok to do? Should I wash the bottles out before or if I refill?

    Thanks,

    Alex.

Wash them out and refill as you wish, but why would you do this?

    WHY......

Put old bottles in a box, stick them in the attic.

    Why would you refill ?

You want to keep the bottles, until you see them again, say like a Jameson 18 year old, at which point you'll replace them. This sounds very odd tbh.

If you want to replace them when you come across them, then just go to a good supplier and you'll come across them.
If they are rare and hard to find, I'm sure you won't forget them in a hurry.
If your memory is that bad that you might forget them, then take a photo.

Filling them up with regular whiskey, almost suggests an ulterior motive tbh.

I just thought id ask, its like if you have wine of 2 types & pour one into the near empty bottle, as I understand it your not supposed to mix wines, if that makes sense. :o

If they're empty, use them as candle holders. It can make it look nice and old when the melted wax flows down their sides, and then left as ornaments.

Mixing random whiskeys isn't really a good idea either. But I still don't see the point in refilling the bottles?

If you like the bottles that much, just keep them - I've got some of the fancier "travel retail" bottles cleaned and on a shelf.

Thanks, I rather like the suggestion of them as candle holders instead so I think I will do that. :)

Got a lamp maid out of a Jack D bottle. Looks good.

Do a test on a plain bottle with different sorts of candles, as I've found some of the cheaper ones don't look as well as others (it looked more like jizz on the bottle than candle wax!).

U could cut the bottle in half and make a fancy drinkin glass for yourself. Youtube it.
