When I'm flying with Ryanair, I can print off my boarding pass likev12 days beforehand but on 2 days beforehand with Emirates. Is this normal?

I was hoping to get the loads ofvoahes worth of boarding passes over and done with tonight bit I've to wait until 2 days beforehand now. Ridiculous

Most airlines it's less - between 24 and 36 hours. Ryanair are the outlier.

Oh really? Only other time I didn't fly with Ryanair was when booked with a travel agents and they had our tickets a good 2 weeks before leaving.

At least I know it's all fine. Thanks for the help.

Not even necessary. Emirates will email you when check in is open.

Also OP, you don't actually have to check in online. Emirates have actual desks in the airport staffed by friendly humans where they'll smile and print out a boarding pass for you.

Ryanair really have people brainwashed! As far as I know easyJet and Wizz Air are the only two other airlines in Europe that make you check in online.

You can choose seats and order special meals as soon as booking is confirmed. (Not a vegetarian but the veggie options often very tasty!)
    No panic with check in.

I didn't get charged for choosing seats. I can even go into the app and change it now.

I booked in march so I guess it's changed since then?

Ah yeah I think it's booking after either August or October. Ah you've nothing to worry about then. When I flew with them I was waiting til on the dot for check in so I could select a seat :).
