My 2001 Passat 1.9TDI is finally up for being changed, 6 months NCT left in it but issues starting to appear now that will make it not worth the cash to put it through again, along with the high tax/increasing insurance due to age ( dont get me started on that ...) and the fact that I do less than 10k a year.

Will have about 10-12k to spend and would like to get an estate due to kids/dog and their associated stuff usually thrown in the back. Would consider an SUV/Crossover also but I see very limited options out there other than diesels.

Any suggestions would be very welcome
