I'd imagine it's the VRTVPD1 form if it is being VRT'd in your name. Maybe ask the car dealer to be sure. Actually is there a reason why the dealer isn't VRTing the car on your behalf? Most proper dealers will VRT the car on the customer's behalf as part of the sale.

    +1

Dealer should be registering the car for you. It's against the law for someone to sell a foreign registered car in Ireland, it must be registered first. A Revenue approved dealer (TAN holder) can stock a car with foreign plates, but must register it before delivery to customer.

If you are registering the car yourself, then I guess you are not an "authorized person" (TAN holder) so its VRTVPD2.

As already pointed out, the Seller (private or Dealer) is supposed to VRT the Car before selling it.
Because you say it's a Dealer I'm guessing it's a fairly small one-man operation and the guy is simply avoiding Tax by not VRT'ing Cars himself. This is because Revenue will take notice if the same person VRT's a certain number of cars annually.
TBH this doesn't say much about the stuff he's selling, but if you have already done the deal then best of luck with your purchase.

edit; I see you say he is providing Finance for this Car also. If he's big enough to be involved with the Car Loan Guys why isn't he in a position to VRT the Car himself ????
