Shower advice

    Hi,

Been looking at some properties recently with a mind to buy - some places we have looked at had electric showers with passable water pressure or poor ones connected to water tanks.

Lot of the places I've rented (in Ireland) tend to have either electric shower, which is passable in summer but then in winter months when you crank up the water temp it drops the water pressure. Other showers then running directly off the tank with crap pressure and needed to heat the tank.

Lived a lot around Europe and showers in rented places I had were simple metal handle on the shower tiles - swing left or right for temperature and all had great pressure. From what I understand what I would be looking at one of the following options:

    1. A mixer shower with hot water cylinder with a small expansion tank above it in the airing cupboard and most likely a boiler

    2. Alternatively a combi-boiler set-up

    3. Keep the bog standard low pressure system, ensuring the tank is at least 1m above the shower head then install a seperate pump that boosts the pressure to the mixer shower.

    4. All-in-one power shower combing mixer and pump in wall mounted unit

Would appreciate any advice on what is the best option, approx cost of each option, any advice from anyone that has installed any of the above.

    Thanks!

Best option for the money. 500 euro for a decent 3 bar pump plus labour.

About 550/950 supplied & fitted depending on the brand of showers

Cheers sleeper - not as much as I thought actually. Any idea on the costing of the first two options?

I wasn't sure what you meant here? Hot water cylinder with a water tank above it? You get these in apartments.
Or a hot water cylinder with an expansion vessel above it?
