Kia optima Sportswagon EX vs EXS

Sorry for posting such a simple question but I cannot find an answer. We are in the process of buying a new car and Skoda Superb Combi is top of list. However, I'm also looking into the new Optima Sportswagon as it is cheaper.

From what I can see there are two specs available to order in Ireland - the EX and EXS trim.

Can anyone tell me the difference between them? It could be a blonde/senior moment but try as I might, I cannot find any info on the Kia website, apart from a difference in price on the pricelist.

Would anyone have a link to a full spec list for the above trims? Or know the differences?

    Thanks in advance!

Sunroof I think on the EXS. Makes it impossible to sit in if they've got a sunroof.

I believe the difference is the panoramic sunroof, but you'd want to confirm with a dealer to be sure.

I got a new Ceed estate last month, which replaced the exact same model having been 3 years old at that stage. I like the Kia brand have had a good experience with the first car. For the money, I couldn't find another car in the sector that provided as much spec as standard. There are little choices, but what I needed was there as standard, rather than having to add this pack or that pack with other brands that can increase the end price.

When it came to the decision three years ago, it was the Kia warranty that also played a big part in the decision. Skoda/Ford/Opel/Seat etc. could not matchup back then, but I know that some of the other brands have improved there warranty offers at this stage.

Ah but the engine range is piss poor in terms of power

    Think they're 140bhp?

To be fair, the engine range is exactly what the majority of motorists in Ireland are looking for! We live in a country where 105 to 120 PS is considered powerful and 140-170 PS is considered to be practically a supercar...

So Kia deliver exactly what the market wants.

Test drove it yesterday. (Optima Sportswagon) Struggled at the 120km/h mark. Fully loaded with family and luggage, it would feel very slow.

170 PS would be reasonable in some of their 2.0 litre cars though if not 200-230!

It isn't about what the few people in the boards.ie motors forum wants though... It's about what PJ MacFarmer and Mary O'Schoolrun wants...

To most of them, 1.5 to 1.7 is perfect, or even to powerful.... To some of them 200+ PS is what they want to but not most of them.

Going back to the Optima, I'd have one, in the estate version; smart and practical. I'd prefer the superb for size but pricing on the superb is getting out of control these days...

    Edit. That's not to say I wouldn't like to see a 200 PS model, i would :)

I found the Superb Combi to be far and away a better option. More expensive also so it is to be expected.
