    Hi

I'm new here so this might be a daft question but does anyone know if any farmers in the Midlands offer a crop growing service ? I am looking for someone to grow around 2 acres of a herb from seeds or seedlings that I would supply.

Does anyone have any ideas of the pros and cons of this type of arrangement ?

It's common enough to grow crops on contract, your issue will be finding the expertise/facilities required i fear.

Anything to do with green leafy veg/herbs is specialist and either chemical or labour intensive, you will need to look up some of the horticultural companies/soft fruit growers in your area i guess.

Thanks for that I'd also be quite happy to rent the land and provide the labour and expertise myself but it is proving impossible to find such a small parcel of tillage land to rent in the area.

Where abouts in the Midlands are you? I know a good hort grower just outside Ballinasloe. I'd say he would be interested in contract growing

I'm in Portarlington so that would only be around an hour from Ballinasloe. I'd be grateful for any info. Thanks

    Hi

Due to expansion we are once again looking for farmers in the Midlands that offer a crop growing service ? I am looking for someone to grow 1-2 acres of a herb from seeds or seedlings that I would supply. I am willing to negotiate a good deal that would be fair to all parties in the long term.
