Google vs LinkedIn. What's the better company to work for?

    Hi,
I am currently working in Google's HQ in Dublin.
However I work for a vendor so I'm actually not a real Googler. I have done the same job for a year as the real Googlers however the "real Googler's" get triple the salary I get. There are many benefits working at the Google HQ. We get free breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. There's a gym, pool & drinks every Friday. We do some fun events and I have loved this job. There are thee concerns for me working there.
    1. Google has politics going around in the office. If you aren't a "real Googler" they treat you different as a garbage bag ( not that bad but you still feel unimportant in their eyes due to the way they treat you).
    2. They currently get triple paid in salary then I do although we do the same job.
    3. Google have reorgs every year putting those in your team who is on a contract in danger to lose their job.

I now have a opportunity to join LinkedIn. I could also stay where I am. Trying to figure out what would be the best fit for me.

Is there anyone who gas worked for Google who switched to LinkedIn? And if so why did you change?

Anyone who works or worked for LinkedIn how is it to work there? Benefits? What's the con's?

Thank you in advance for helpful information.

Haven't worked in either (but have done business with them both) so can't be specific relating to your query but would like to comment anyway.

    1. Most large corporates are political cess pits, you need to learn how to play the game unfortunately
    2. In contrast with your observation I have found contractors (especially in IT) to earn more than permanent staff doing the same role
    3. If Google really is that crappy to work for as a contractor then leave, unless they can make you permanent
    4. Linkedin seem to have a similar culture to Google, lots of millennials, pool tables, table tennis, all that and most importantly for some beer on draft in their common area

If I was offered a permanent role in Linkedin on significantly more I'd go for it.

I might have an idea who this vendor is, I found myself in a very similar position last year.
Also was offered a "permanent" role and although the pay they offered me first was decent, a lot of things came to the surface that were never mentioned before. I would have worked for google under a vendor company but I wouldn't actually be employed with them but with a contractor company at a very bad hourly rate. Turned it down in the end.
If you get a permanent role at LinkedIn, I might consider going for it over staying a contractor.

    Good luck!
