    Hi all,
Decided to take the family away in August.

We don't care where we go to... we're just after a bit of sun. So anything convenient in Spain / Canaries would suit fine.

At the moment we're looking at Ryanair flights to Malaga which are working out at 200 euro a head - all good.

We're just randomly looking at Marbella.

Budgeting for about €200 per night.

    6 in total...
    1st room: Couple
    2nd room: 2 x single beds
    3rd room: 2 x single beds

Somewhere within a 25 min walk from the action, so that we can walk home at night (or cheap taxi) ... don't want to be in the sticks as we'll have an 18 year old and 11 year old with us.

Only stipulation is that we want a pool. It can be shared no problem (infact might even be a bonus so the younger ones are around people)

Can anyone inspire me? We don't care where we go to... literally pull a destination of of your backside for all I care... it's purely to get away together and get some sun.

Try ownersdirect website. Might find something there.

    Whats your budget?

holidayhomesdirect.ie is a good website. It puts you in contact with owners so you don't have to pay the 15% commission the middle man like tripadvisor and airbnb charge you.

it'll be tough finding a villa with a shared pool, most are private. 3 bed apartment might be easier.

Many thanks, will check out those sites.

Budgeting for about €200 per night approx.

I'm easy with shared / private pool, provided there some form of a pool.

We're thinking a 3 bed apartment may suit better as we don't want to be up in the mountains etc. (where most villas are... understandably)

Yup, something like that makese sense. After looking at flights, we're inclined to stick with flying to Malaga and concentrate accom. around Marbella / Puerto Banus.

AirBnB has some good options in your price range. You'd want to make sure you find a reliable host but it could work out cheaper as your going direct to the owner in a lot of cases. Personally I prefer Malaga to Marbella. I didn't think the beach in Marbella was great and Malaga has a nicer town centre. Marbella's a bit spread out for walking.

Many thanks. Yes we were looking at AirBnB / Tripadvisor for villas, plenty to choose from.

Thanks for recommendation re. Malaga vs Marbella. We were only saying Marbella / Puerto Banus as I was down there for work in the past.

We're also now looking around TORREMOLINOS.... again I don't care where we are (we'll be renting a people carrier), I just would like it to be close'ish (ie. quick taxi ride) to some nightlife as we'll have an 18 year old with us. Also one will be around 10 (I should really know the age of my relations!) so a day at the water-park would be nice.

France is beautiful, hot, classy & has fabulous food & wine, beautiful beaches & interesting sights to explore & lots of Ryanair connections!

There used be a great site rentaplaceinfrance.com I recall planning a holiday for a few months using it - Villas, pools, wide spread of options & places. It predated airbnb so I'm not sure how it compares now - but could still be well worth a visit.

    I'll take a look, cheers.

I'd be happy out with France... I just want to keep in mine the fact we'll have 2 younger people with us so this will need to be a mix of a bit of relaxation, but also not too far from some activities / beaches / and a little bit of nightlife.

We stayed in La Scala last year, on the Costa Brava, wonderful place, great choice of villa's, all with pools. Try housetrip.com

    ^^ MAny thanks.

As an aside, put a quick search for Nice... 90 euro return flights PP and villas within close proximity to Nice are quite affordable.

When it comes to France i'm useless with geography / where not to stay etc... again just using Nice as reference as i've flown in there en-route to Antibes in the past.

We got a lovely spot in Benalmedina last year through AirBnB. I would use it again to get a place.

Calpe 50mins from Alicante is a great spot. Imperial park up the mountains is a great resort with villas and apartments catering for large or small families. They have onsite entertainment for all ages, loads of pools at all different levels, huge gardens, restaurants, bars. Not full of typical English lager louts either its a quiet compared to the typical holiday spots. The flights to malaga would be same as Alicante and the city is down the mountains about a ten min drive. Two large proms full of late night cocktail bars, restaurants, pubs, ice cream cafes, markets... Beautiful spot.
Have stayed there many times would recommend it definitely as when I was there I was sixteen and we also had a younger sibling with us..so perfect for all ages.

Big fan of Mallorca here...have rented 4 properties through www.homeaway.co.uk
This villa for 6 in Cala d'Or is one that was on my "shortlist" and fills all your criteria!
