I watched the game yesterday & didnt find offence ( & still dont ) to what Lee Dixon said. I mean come on do people really wake up in the morning & spend the day trying to get offended

" The Arsenal legend was working for American TV network NBC when South Korea international Son picked up a yellow card for a wild tackle on Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino.
During a replay of the incident, Dixon said: ‘Haaaiiyaa’, before adding ‘karate kick’. "

I find that finding things offensive keeps me safe in my bubble & stops me going out, except to give out **** on the internet.

I find this kinda sh1t utterly ridiculous.
Actress Idina Menzel has been criticised by a mental health charity for joking that a music album made her want to slit her wrists.

Asked by a journalist which songs made her cry, Menzel replied: "You'd think because I'm a singer I listen to a lot of music, which I do, but there's certain music that I think is so devastatingly beautiful that it's too painful to listen to some times.

"There's this Meshell Ndegeocello album, Bitter, that I just can't listen to. It's so good. It makes me just want to slit my wrists."

Jessica Cruz, executive director of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) California, told the Press Association: "Self harm and suicide is a very serious situation. Some people may not realise the impact of that type of statement.

"It shows a lack of education around the pain families and individuals go through and further stigmatises mental health.

Park, Park, wherever you may be

You eat dogs in your home country

    It could be worse

    You could be Scouse

Eating rats in your council house

(Man United fans singing about one of their own players, South Korean Park Ji Sun, to the tune of Lord of the Dance).

    Racist or good humour?

Good humour. It's not meant to be offensive towards Park, but rather a jab at Liverpool.

There's a difference between that chant which if specifically designed to offend and people who take offense at any opportunity. The One Show (The blandest show on tv) was criticised for some off hand comment about a peanut allergy. - It was some comment about a murder TV series and they said something along the lines of "It's always a peanut allergy". So, of course, people took "offence"

Basically it's narcissism of behalf of the "offended": It's a case of "Look at me! I'm much more sensitive to other people than you are and am therefor a better person". Check it out. Check out the typical comments by the easily offended.

Every single opinion can be twisted to offend. Facts can be twisted too but it's easier to twist opinion:

    I like the summer:

Oh sure, less rain, hotter, longer days. Do you know how many people are starving around the world from drought? They would give ANYTHING for some of our rain. You insensitive jerk!

    Or

Of course you do. 'Cos you're a man! You like nothing more than seeing women objectify themselves in the hot weather by wearing shorter skirts or lighter clothes. Putting their bodies through the ringer to conform to some male-designed idea of the perfect bikini woman. You sexist pig!

I am SO much more enlightened than you are. You people belong in the past and are the reason we have.... yadd yadda yadda

    Give it a go.

I think a lof of this is tabloid-initiaitive to try and stir up argument to be honest. It gets to the poitn that people are offended because they're told they should be offended and people who read these thigns are aways likely to be influenced in such a way.

Don't bring it to their attnetion, and they won't even notice.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

And factually correct, they do eat dogs, so I don't see anything racist about it at all.

I dont know how many times ive been called this or that online, most recently being given out to for not mentioning how many of a men were at a particular women's solidarity march(the one I was not at actually).

So I came to the conclusion that some ppl are looking to be offended by and spend all pm giving out about it, all the better if they can bully the other person/ppl about it.

What ppl dont seem to know or cant see, is that they themselves are the ppl offending themselves, in the case above, I was just typing words and ref'ing my own experiences, if ppl wanted to see that as feminist, anti man, anti cause, that's cause it the way they read it and that says more about them than me.

Think on generation snowflake and its parents, commenting on something not obv not in print cause of the way YOUR inner voice says it is, tells others maybe more than you would want them to know.

    Is tone dead?

Yes and those assholes will always use the same blooming excuses. "Were trying to foster debate and get people talking about matters that concern all cultures around the world." What they really are doing is driving a wedge between communities and encouraging hotheadedness. Some journalists have no shame.
