Ian in the process of purchasing a 2016 Mazda 6 2.2 sport Nav from a UK company. I want to ensure to have the service history with car when I go to collect it but they tell me that the service history is all done online now?
    Does this sound right?
I would be happier to have a book showing service schedule.

Also, there is 20,000 miles on the clock. From what I make out its due it's 2nd service at about 25000 miles. Can I insist on the car being serviced before I purchase?

Lots of cars are now coming with their service histories recorded online. Premium brands have been doing for a good few years now. Mazda UK or a Mazda main dealer should be able to access it's service history though on a 16 reg car I would not expect more than one or two services unless it had serious mileage racked up on it.

Yes Mazda history records are all recorded on line. I recently bought a 2010 Mazda 6 and got a print out of the history record with the car.

I bought a Volvo a few years ago all service history online and printed off rang the garages and all added up

We need to build a car that stores what was done in its memory service wise

I suppose it is the modern way alright but you know when you're a bit apprehensive about buying in UK you feel you need everything in paper format.
What about the service side of things? Wonder can I insist on them servicing it for me before collection if it's not due for another few thousand miles?

That will depend entirely on the dealer you are buying from.
