Audi A5 Timing Belt

Just looking at an Audi A5 2.0 TDI today with 80k miles on the clock. Asked about the timing belt and the salesman claimed it wouldn't require one until c. 200k Kilometres which is c. 120k miles.

The figure kind of surprised me. Depending on the make and model I thought you would need to be thinking about replacement anywhere between 60k and 80k miles.

    Is he correct?

Yep, think that is correct 120,000 miles or 5 years.

The "long life" belt is what I was told.

    Thanks for the replies.

I forgot to mention this was a 2009 car.
As a result of the 'five years' factor, should it be changed?

I'd get them to change it as part of the sale if it's still on it's original belt. 80k miles is very low for an 8 year old diesel car, does it have any verified service history?

I agree the mileage seemed low, but we've studied the service history and it seems to check out. I've spoken to the previous owner too and he convinced me it's ok.
