Commercial vehicle advice

Not sure if this is the right section, but it's the best I could see.

I'm looking for a commercial vehicle and need some advice of what make may be suitable.

    The vehicle must be:
    - Long wheel base
    - Suitable for drivers with standard licence
    - Have tail lift
    - Be able to unload at a lock door
    - Be able to be fitted with curtains in the side of not already fitted.

    Any suggestions?

Something like a Dyna 150 or Isuzu NPR/NNR? but payload would be small enough. Think you can get transits with similar setup. Not sure about the curtains though, this would really limit your options.
    Do you actually need curtains?

    Thanks Colin.

Isuzu seems like best option. Currently have a Dyno pickup, but that is too low for dock doors.

Maybe I don't need curtains, but what I need is the ability to be able to load large equipment from the side. Loading from the back isn't an option.

There's two types of Dyna, you probably have the single wheel 100
The 150/350 has double wheels on the back and is a chassis cab originally and a body is built on top.

Aren't dock doors designed for full size trucks? Would the tail lift get around that?

I think Nissan do a cab star box body too, you'd only really see them in the uk. Think there's a Renault badged version of it too.

Probably worth looking in the uk.

Just be aware of the very small payload of any 3.5ton truck. Mitsubishi Fuso Canter, Isuzu NPR, Transit, Iveco Daily, and a few others fit the bill, but often have a legal payload of about a ton... if you add a tail lift, drop that to 750kg.. not so sure you'd put much heavy equipment in there.

I had an Iveco daily with a 14ft box for a while, and it was handy but not for anything heavy

It looks like your options as to what you can buy are being restricted because of your driving licence.
Would you not consider getting the C or C1 licence to give you more vehicle options.

Thanks for all the advice guys.

Colm had pointed out a few nice options there.

I understand I'll be restricted with my criteria, but the van will be used more as a utility vehicle for smaller jobs in a fairly short radius. So we won't have to cope with heavier loads too often.

The reason I'm trying to stay away from a C or C1 license is that the vehicle will be used by several people, so if need to get about 4 people licenced for it. Trying to avoid that if possible.

I don't think you'll get a non HGV that will fit dock doors. I had a Mercedes Ateco which is about as big as you'll get on a C1 license and it was miles too low.
