Do you mean a 'radio play' or, say, a location recording of a drama production

I think a good microphone (a condenser, say), an audio interface, a computer with recording software. Best to get a large diaphragm condenser (LDC) as you can then use the same mic for foley/sound FX.

If you're into field recordings as well, you might want to consider a ZOOM recorder or similar – you can then use the ZOOM stand-alone as a location recorder, and use it as an audio interface for your LDC when you're back in the studio doing voiceovers, dialogue etc.
