The box it was in was showing signs of wear and covered with tape. The filter itself is perfect but on the side it says "Tested for leaks 10/9/01" and so had most likely been sitting in a warehouse all that time waiting for me to buy it

Another day I went to a shop looking for a replacement spring for an air chisel. The man behind the counter said he had one lying on a shelf for about 10 years, spent ages searching and told me to take it away for free when he found it

Did anyone here ever buy an older part, something that had been sitting on the shelf for 25, 30 years perhaps?

No! She drives as tight as if she were new! Eligible for a vintage road tax. Some days her emissions, the others are here lovely cc's. Quite a ride! ;-)
