The thought to have a GPS tracker fitted has crossed my mind.

My early research points me to the likes of this on dashcam.ie , although the exact one is also available for £12 GBP on eBay uk

Is it a case of they actually do what is says on the tin or is there anything else I am missing or overlooking?

Does anyone have a tracker fitted? .. wondering also if it would lower the insurance premium?

I'd be very cautious about spending money on these so-called gps trackers. I purchased a similar 'tracker' from a uk seller (who advertises in motoring magazines) and it never worked properly from the start. The main issue was that it didnt hold it's charge for more than a few days/one week - it was supposed to stay charged for one month!

After loads of emails he replaced it with another unit (secondhand!), but this too wouldnt hold its charge (I had to cover the return postage cost). When I contacted him about this faulty tracker 'replacement' he now no longer replies.

    Buyer beware!

You could use an old smartphone.
I've been meaning to get around testing this.
Was gonna hardwire my old smartphone in the car(hidden) top up a 10€ sim card to transmit data GPS.
Will try post up the page I found that tells you what app and how to track it.

You can buy a GPS blocker for small change which renders cheap inferior trackers useless nowadays
