Hi, I was looking at upgrading my car from a 2011 fiesta 1.25 to a vw polo 1.2 diesel.
I'm just wondering does anybody have any personal opinions on them? are the economical? reliable?

    TIA :-)

They're quite unpleasant to listen to. They sound like they're gong to blow up when they're idling. They quieten down a good bit once you get moving, but I think they're a pretty hateful little engine overall.
Rest of the car is nice enough though.

Paying potentially a nice bit of money to go down a year would be a little crazy. How much do you spend on petrol a week/month?

    thanks for the advice!
currently i am putting in 30 a week and that is literally me travelling 2km to work a day and a few little trips inbetween. But might be changing jobs soon so would need something a bit more economical that is a low enough litre engine as i find I'm putting way to much in the fiesta for the milage I'm doing!

Cars will all be more economical on longer open road runs.
