They are a good car if a little under powered. The good news is the 1.4 D-4D engine of that vintage doesn't come with the usual expensive components that fail or get blocked on modern diesel engines like a dual mass flywheel or diesel particulate filter. The main thing to look out for is evidence of regular servicing especially around frequent oil changes and that the gearbox is not clunky or notchy as gearbox bearings can go on them.

A good choice.engine is simpler than current diesels and will give plenty of miles-my brother has a o6 diesel from new and has 165 k kms on it trouble free but he is meticulous about oil and filter changes done at the exact intervals.would recommend and that price is reasonable imo.
